JENICA RAYNE Jenica Rayne is a poet of consequence, an advocate of social and personal change. "Jenica paints perfect pictures with her words that evoke deep feelings spoken from her soul to ours. A wonderful writer, with relaxed and humorous stage presence." Linda Kidder, Musician Born in the picturesque village of Picton, on the shores of Lake Ontario, Canada Jenica has lived near water all her life. As an adult she moved to the west coast, living in Vancouver and the Gulf Islands for more than a decade. She now calls Kingston, Ontario, her home. The soothing power and restless beauty of a body of water is a fitting metaphor for Jenica Rayne's music, which is at once poetic, passionate and resonant. Jenica comes from a long line of professional musicians. Her father played guitar in bands for over 17 years (as did his father); his influence and encouragement are evident. She is a graduate of Malaspina University/College's Jazz program in Nanaimo BC, majoring in guitar. Jenica's discography includes 3 critically acclaimed CD's: Hall of Memories in 1999, Essential Elements in 2004 produced by Simon Kendall and her latest release Live Rayne in 2007 which she self produced. Jenica is a well-seasoned performer and has established an enthusiastic and loyal following. She is equally comfortable alone on stage or with a band, always engaging her audience with personal stories and humour. Jenica has shared the stage with some of Canada's finest entertainers, both as a headliner and a hired guitarist. She has been interviewed and featured on CBC's Radio One, played across the country on university and college radio stations and tracked down by international fans.
